KUALA LUMPUR: MCA members may soon have a good reason not to leave home without their party membership card.
MCA national organising secretary Datuk Yoo Wei How said they would be able to use the cards to collect points at selected outlets such as cafes or for the purchase of air tickets.
These points, he added, could then be used to exchange for goods.
“You can also collect points when you swipe your card to enter the San Choon Hall for the assembly.
“You may get 30 points for entry. But we will deduct 50 points if you leave before the meeting ends,” he quipped in his reply at the 61st MCA annual general assembly.
Yoo pointed out that there were many members who had previously misplaced their cards as they had only used them once a year.
“If they get benefits like points when they use their cards, these members may take the trouble to call up the party headquarters to update their particulars or replace a lost card,” he said.
